How to Set Up Netgear WiFi Extender?

Setting up a Netgear WiFi extender is a simple way to improve your home’s wireless coverage. To begin, plug the extender into a power outlet near your existing WiFi router. Wait for the Power LED to turn solid green. Once it's on, use a smartphone, laptop, or tablet to connect to the extender's default WiFi network, usually named something like "NETGEAR_EXT."

After connecting, open a web browser. The setup page should load automatically. If it doesn’t, type the default IP address into your browser's address bar. Follow the on-screen instructions to select your home WiFi network and enter its password. You may also be prompted to create a new network name (SSID) for the extended signal, or you can keep it the same as your existing one.

Once the setup is complete, the extender will reboot. After that, you can unplug it and move it to a location halfway between your router and the area with weak signal. Ensure the new location still receives a decent WiFi signal from the router. Reconnect your devices to the extended network for improved coverage and performance.
