A pickup truck is a passenger car with an open luggage compartment - a platform. This is a functional car, standing between a truck and an SUV. It differs from the latter in a lower price.

3. Medium size. Here they have two rows and four doors;
4. Full size. The length of the entire machine is more than 18 ft, the width is up to 6.5. There are light and heavy versions;
5. Giant pickup. Made on the basis of cargo transport, produced individually and in limited quantities. The mass of the trailer can reach 17.5 tons, and the load capacity of the machine without it can cope with a weight of 5.5 tons.
Most often, pickup trucks are chosen by people living outside the city or who love outdoor activities. The category of buyers additionally includes businesspeople or drivers who move goods from one place to another. If a person lives in an apartment building, they should think twice about choosing a pickup truck as the main means of transportation. The quality of all pickups is equally good.
The main benefits of pickup trucks:
1. Their main purpose is the transportation of goods. They're perfect for this - not as wide as trucks, not as expensive as SUVs. Most pickup trucks are provided with a carrying capacity of several tons. You can put both a motorcycle and bulky luggage on the platform at the back - the base of the car will withstand everything.
2. High passability on the roads.
Pickup trucks have disadvantages too:
1. High fuel consumption. The car has high handling on the roads in any weather, great dynamics, and power, but the amount of gasoline understates the pros. High fuel consumption is associated primarily with the main task of the machine - the transport of goods weighing several tons.
2. The pickup truck has a rigid suspension. Not everyone can get used to driving such a car. Nevertheless, pickup manufacturers constantly notice and edit this negative side. There are modifications in modern cars. Now pickups drive smoother.

Whether you're using a pickup truck for work or family, you need to know exactly what you need - roominess, towing capacity, payload, etc., in order to choose the best vehicles to meet your needs.
If you need to tow oversized cargo or cargo that is outside the scope of regular parcels, pickup trucks make more sense. They have a lot of power, and when you buy a new car, you can often upgrade the engine and suspension system for even more performance (or you can buy a used car with the upgrades you want). In addition, you can transport various materials without any problems: cement, stone, spare parts, etc. And since it is easier to earn money on such a car, whether it is a full-time or a part-time job, this can be a determining reason for choice.
The pickup truck body provides substantial versatility. You can open the rear window to carry long items such as wood and you don't have to worry about tall items hitting the roof.
In the past, pickup truck interiors weren’t as diverse as today. From leather seats to electronic infotainment systems and more, inside they can be as simple as they are luxurious. You can also modify them for personalization and improved looks, such as with oversized wheels and suspension lift kits.
If fuel economy is important to you and you plan to carry cargo, you may be paying more for gas than you would like.
Another issue can be an open body - yes, it is certainly good for transporting any cargo, but its contents are in no way protected from rain, wind, or theft. (By the way, this problem is easy to solve with the help of a cover or roller shutter).
In addition, if you want to transport a family, a regular cab pickup truck can only accommodate a couple of passengers and is not suitable for small children. If you're not used to driving a pickup, it may take some practice, especially in tight urban areas.
An SUV is a great option for a family as it offers large family transportation and towing options. They have spacious interiors and comfortable seats, making them suitable for long road trips or the daily commute. In addition, SUVs are equipped with features such as rear-seat entertainment systems and built-in Wi-Fi to keep your kids entertained and enjoy the ride.
Pickups are also a good option for families but don't offer the same level of comfort as long-distance SUVs. They are ideal for hauling and towing, but may not have as much interior space as SUVs. Pickup trucks may also lack features designed specifically for families.
If you have a large family or need a lot of space in your car, then you can consider five-seat compact SUVs and seven- or eight-seat full-size SUVs. Toddler and toddler seats can be installed for safety, and when you're about to load your car to the brim, an SUV has more to offer.
While the fuel efficiency of an SUV is not as good as that of a conventional passenger car, it is often better than that of a pickup truck. In addition, there is a difference in management. While a conventional passenger car is easier to maneuver than an SUV, the latter is often smoother and easier to drive than a pickup truck.
Finally, if you're sure that you won't be hauling any construction materials or anything like that, or towing large trailers, then you may not need the versatility of a pickup truck.
